Japanese Theme Garden

Our Japanese Theme Garden uses 3 elements together: Rocks, water and plants.

See the black tarp? The pond area is still a work in progress. There was a ground cover that we removed because it just made the space look too busy and chaotic.

The goal of a Japanese theme garden is to be minimalist, and peaceful .

We will continue to work on this garden this summer.

This is one of the more balanced and practical takes I've come across on the topic. A few of these ideas are things I'd half-figured out but never put into words this cleanly. There's a complementary piece I wrote about this at silk-suite.org that adds a bit more context.
